An online gambling expert believes that Canada needs to relax its laws for economic and social reasons.
Pauls Burns is the vice-president of the Canadian Gaming Association and he is convinced that legalising online casino play will help authorities control it, especially in terms of limiting players’ gambling habits and underage play.
Mr Burns claimed that $1 billion (£650m) is currently being spent by Canadians using offshore online casino sites, and that this money would benefit the country’s economy should lawmakers ease the regulations.
“Canadians are spending $1 billion on online gaming and virtually all of that is going to offshore companies,” Mr Burns said at the recent Canadian Gaming Summit in Calgary Alberta.
It could be that the legalisation of online casino use in Canada leads to an increase in the total number of players. This in turn may result in a greater uptake of UK online slots games like Rainbow Riches.
Rainbow Riches is one of the most popular online and offline slots titles in the world, building up a massive fanbase since its inception. The game can now be played by mobile casino players with a separate version available for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Another game which could draw in crowds from abroad is Cleopatra. Just like Rainbow Riches, this brand has become huge worldwide due to its exciting gameplay and exotic Egyptian theme. In a similar fashion to Rainbow Riches, it also has a handheld iteration so players can try their luck at picking up the jackpot on the go.
